Meet the Stay Africa! Team that will ensure you have the best social travel experience of your life!! We asked each member of the team to give us their favourite quote or saying…

Clyde Hayward

Managing Director

Clyde is the MD of Stay Africa and has held this position since 2011. When he is not busy running the organization, you’ll find him on his mountain bike exploring the numerous scenic trails that the Cape mountain ranges have to offer! He describes himself as an avid adventure traveller and loves the feeling of being out in nature!

“If you look for positive things in life, you will find them…”

Kevin Mudenda

Programme Manager

Kevin joined the Stay Africa! team in 2013 after various ventures in the travel and tourism industry, including a 1-year English-Teaching adventure in Thailand. He describes himself as being passionate about people and helping others. He serves as the primary contact person for all Stay Africa! programme participants (individual volunteers, groups, high school exchange, etc.) while in South Africa.

“Some people are so poor, all they have is money.”

Noel Kitching

Volunteer House Manager

Noel, affectionately referred to by our volunteers as their African Dad, joined the Stay Africa! team in 2014 and has been our full-time volunteer house manager since. His many years’ experience in working with young people, combined with his love for the culinary world and cooking (our official barbecue king), ensures that our volunteers are well looked-after while in Cape Town.

“Live a simple life. Live it Truthfully, Sincerely and Honestly… but most importantly, live it with a lot of integrity.”

Narieman Bohardien

Office and Accounts Manager

Narieman is the veteran of the group! She has been with the company since the inception of the Volunteer Programme and carries a wealth of knowledge and experience – she is the official go-to-person in the office! Having travelled extensively, including living abroad for a few years, her passion for anything travel-related is easy to see.

“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade…”

Roxanne Adams

Roxanne has been with the company for 10 years and currently one of our local Team Coordinators in Cape Town. Having majored in Travel and Tourism Management, she describes herself as a fun-loving individual who loves meeting new people and travelling, more than anything else in the world… Having travelled extensively through Europe, Italy remains her favourite travel destination!

“Live Life to the Fullest!!”

Zareena Jordan-Muller

Programme Coordinator

Zareena (known to everyone as Zee) is one of the local Team Coordinators in Cape Town, and has been with Stay Africa for the last 8 years. She plays an integral role in ensuring volunteers are placed at the correct/preferred projects and accommodation. Zee describes herself as someone who loves journeying into unknown places, and immersing herself in new cultures.

“Seize The Day!”

Cynthia Mtizwa

Volunteer House Service Staff

Cynthia joined the Stay Africa team in Jan 2017 and has a way of always building great relationships with our programme participants!! Originally from Kadoma village in Zimbabwe, her humble and hard-working ways never go unnoticed.

“I live a life of favour, because I know who I am…”

Zollie Madlala

Volunteer House Service Staff

This “young lady”, from King Williams Town in the Eastern Cape province, is the most senior of the service staff and has been part of the Stay Africa family for more than 7 years. Loved by all for her motherly ways (yes, she can be pretty strict sometimes!), Zollie is the unofficial mother of our volunteer houses!

“Treat others as you want to be treated…”

Tendayi Matambo

Volunteer House Service Staff

Tendayi has been with Stay Africa for almost 3 years. Also originally from our neighbouring Zimbabwe, she plays a vital role in ensuring that our volunteer house is kept in a great condition and provides a good, clean living environment for all our programme participants.

“Do your best in everything you do!”
